Explore Scientific 1.25” 62° 40mm vs Panaview 2” 32mm

Hello again, I  am stuck choosing between these 2 eyepieces: the Explore Scientific 1.25” 62° 40mm and The Panaview 32mm 2”.

i am aware that  they are similar in magnification , however I want to know which is best in quality. Is there any difference at all, and if there is, is it big?

I think you will find that the Explore Scientific 40mm 62 degree eyepiece has a 2in barrel, it is not possible to get a 62 degree field with a 40 mm eyepiece and a 1.25 in barrel.

Yes the ES 32mm and 40mm in that series are 2” barrels. 

If you want a 40mm 1.25” eyepiece thay are available in several brands but in smaller fov.

The TeleVue 40mm Plossl 1.25" is very nice eyepiece but only 43 degree.

The ES 40mm 62 is a 2 inch eyepiece as has been said.

If the ES 40mm 62 is basically a rebadged 40mm Meade 5000 Plossl (as has been suggested elsewhere), it's very sharp in the central 50% falling off in the outer 50%, especially the outer 25%.  It has very low distortion and is very easy to hold the exceptionally long eye relief.  Below is an image of and through the (decloaked) 40mm Meade 5000 Plossl.  I have no experience with any of the Panaview eyepieces, though I would recommend the 35mm OVL Aero ED in that range for about the same money if the tighter eye relief is not an issue.  Again, images below taken through an f/6 AT72ED refractor.  YMMV if you have a faster scope.
