lol , well I have just placed my order for the Celestron C80ED-RGT . I am so excited lol . I also ordered an Power supply and got a T piece for my 450D , so hopefully will be dabbling in the Dark Art soon .It should , hopefully , arrive tomorrow and get first light on Thursday evening. Thanks to all who gave input to help me decide on the 'scope.

Oh that is a nice set up. The mount is a doddle to use and the scope gives very good views, I have seen the Crab Neb. and the Cats Eye Neb. through mine.......

Got one myself not long ago, you will love it.

Nice little scope, very clean views, sharp focus with great contrast.

The Goto mount is nice as well and now has 2 inch steel legs - rock solid with the wee beastie mounted on top.

Its a great scope.

You may however want to buy an extension tube for your 450d. My 400d could not reach focus but I just used a barlow with the lens removed.

cheers all , sadly I have not been able to really test it , clouds camped above ! got about 10 mins of lunar viewing so far , impressed with sharpness.

Beamer , not had the 450D on it yet but John (jgs001) has same setup and I'm sure he has been able to attain focus at visual rear using T ring . Cant wait till I actually get some clear clean sky to try camera out

I couldn't get focus on the moon with the T ring and thread. I use the 1.25" ep adapter I have. I know it's not ideal as that will cause greater vignetting, but I don't have a 2" adapter yet, nor a 2" CLS filter...
