Digging through old photos.

Back in the late 80's or early 90's I took my daughters and a couple friends to the Cape. 

I'm still digging for a couple I remember.

If I remember right, I've got them standing.in front of the business end of the Saturn V.

I visited in 1990, I was dismayed to see the mighty Saturn V being displayed outside as shown in your photos, and starting to deteriorate under the Florida climate. It was great to see it displayed under cover when I returned in 2005, and if if I’m not mistaken, all funded by public donations?

You lucky devils, it is a lifelong dream to see that behemoth close up. Can’t imagine what it must have been like to see it battle gravity and leave the planet.

one of my earliest tv memories other than the muppets is that static camera position as the body of the rocket with the large red U then S then A pass by vertically, with all the ice and vapour pouring off it.

Times were so different. My uncle took me to see Apollo 7 and a very dear family friend to see Apollo 11. You could just find a good spot on the road side, pull over and watch it go.

I actually believe we would now be on a section of the restricted road during a launch for Apollo 11. Watching across the Banana River.
