M22 one of my favourite clusters

This is 93mins of 3 min subs on 3 nights, all the 3's. Conditions varied a fair bit and last night was by far the best but was using gap in the trees time for M17, which I will add to further. It is nowhere near as good as the shot from a member the other day from similar latitude but he had a F/L advantage over me of about 400mm.

Same old gear at the moment Canon 40D modded, and 805mm APO on AZ EQ 6. Spent what seemed an age getting PA back to something like only to kick the tripod, yet again whilst putting the roof back in place, life!

 

 

Please feel free to offer advice, I personally feel it's a tad orange but was told that is fairly normal as there are a lot of orange star in the background, I could have taken it out but decided not to.

Feel you may be right there, easy to correct though, this whole area comes out over orange here, which I guess is because it is fairly low down, not like where you are where it gets pretty much overhead I would have thought.

Thats much closer to it... 

Yes, M22 passes overhead, I don't think I ever imaged it but did see it in the eyepiece and in my 14" scope it's a amazing sight... almost like your photo, except with no color and stars were twinkling slightly.

Hope you don't mind I grabbed your image and had a go at it in PixInsight.

You have really good data. A few key things: ChannelMatch to move the red and blue channels half a pixel to compensate for the diffraction in the atmosphere. Has to be done on colour cameras. Second, you should colour calibrate it.

Here are the processes I used, in the order I used them:

Very nice Alan. Looks like the 40D still performs well, I often see these for sale full spectrum. Is yours the full spectrum or IR mod?

Don't mind at all, I don't have this program only PS, on my monitor it is a touch blue but somewhat cleaner in general with tighter stars. I didn't spend a massive amount of time in process and most of the changes I are purely to the Raw file using Select and mask and the Raw adjustment, a very powerful tool and with a bit of effort as good as any other way. The trouble with the likes of PS is there are so many ways to basically do the same thing, I use almost nothing now that I did before apart from stretching.
