Also, as someone said above, it's a more forgiving camera for the beginner that I am :) It leaves me some room for improvement, and should be good enough for most situations and scopes that I own.

Good luck with your new purchase. You will certainly enjoy the mono side of astro imaging. Once everything is set up :)

I'll give you my view on this - it might be useful to you. At 400mm in case of ED66, ASI1600 is going to give you 1.96"/px. In my view this is almost optimal sampling rate for 66mm scope. You can

One thing to watch out for, the 183 has horrendous amp-glow which can be a pig to calibrate out, while the amp-glow in the 1600 is relatively benign, and calibrates out easily.

Thanks! :) Yes I'm excited to get everything up and running. I like the challenge :)
