Access over the internet

Recommended Posts

I am planning to move my kit overseas. Any recommendations for the best way to access the Windows 7 PC securely over the internet? It is likely to be on a local LAN.

Thanks for any ideas.

Regards Andrew

Some thoughts of what I picked up from hobbyist nearby:

1) Backup channel to reboot the computer seems essential. So a power socket you can control via internet to reboot a frozen computer.

2) Local help if you remote access/control fails.

The free version of teamviewer seems to work fine as long they don't classify you later as a commercial company due to a shared internet address.

Nothing wrong with the std Microsoft remote desktop software for remote working.

Install a web cam in your remote obsys so you can see what is really going off.

Plus as Hans says as there will be problems at some stage.

ditto to all that is said above.:thumbright:

I use AnyDesk since I had weeks of issues with "TeamViewer" classifying my remote connection, and stopping my connecting to my garden shed ror observatory 10 feet away, a "Professional" usage ! I've come to really like Anydesk. Free for personal use
