Need a replacement cord for an Autostar...suggestions?

Recommended Posts

I have a #497 Autostar with a dodgy cord, so it keeps cutting out. Does anyone know if it's a standard computer cable, or is it more complex than that?

If it is a standard item, is a cable of this kind available as a spare part somewhere? Maplins maybe? It doesn't matter if it's coiled or not...

Thanks.

HI Richard

Essentially the cable is a simple RJ45 to RJ45 data cable but it's not a standard cable. Mine broke and I found some computer cables that I tested with a meter to make sure they had the same connections. They worked ok, but were too long and I saw some glitches. Then I tried a shorter cable, but didn't check it and I fried the Autostar. Ended up buying a new Autostar...expensive way to get a new cable!

Cheers

Danny
