cotterless45
Not a stunning night , but useful as the only one available for days . Seeing was pretty bad in some areas of the sky, light pollution was picked up and thrown about. When the forecast gives a meeting of warm and cold air , beware ! Turned to the huge vertical rising UMa , recalling some real favourites and ticklish challenges. Very surprised to pick up Sigma 2 , an optical binary, with a fine secondary at x180. Its still something to get the wide field , then crank up the view to get splitting. 23 UMa also gave a most delicate sight. As did Σ 1695 and the difficult 57 UMa. UMa provides many fine binaries and there is so much to enjoy , under Clear Skies !
wookie1965
Glad someone got out I had intermittent cloud I could only see the belt of Orion no sword and Capella, UMa was behind clouds as was Cassiopeia. No chance of the comet.
Demonperformer
Looked out briefly at about 7 last night to see the moon playing peek-a-boo with the clouds. You are seeing more than me recently ...
