Triangulum Constellation

Recommended Posts

I haven’t found many images of this constellation so thought I’d attempt it as it fits in the Fov of my 135mm. A pity I wasn’t imaging it today because the comet 64p Swift-Gehrels is bang in the middle of it, although I’m not sure whether it would have been visible with this lens.

Alpha Trianguli (Metallah) is the second brightest star in Triangulum and is a yellow-white variable double. It is bottom right of the image. Beta and Gamma Trianguli, both white A class stars make up the triangle that gives the constellation its name.

Canon 450, Samyang 135mm F2 at F2.8 on Star Adventurer. Total integration time is about 90 minutes.

One of the few constellations that looks like the description !

Nicely presented and processed,

Dave

Thanks Dave, don’t know why but I didn’t get notified of your reply.

Naked eye I can only just see the three main stars, it was quite a surprise to see how prominent the other two are, and I’d never really looked at much with a scope.

edit, doh It would help if I pressed the follow button

There's a noticeable line of stars on the left between the two framing stars, interesting as they really stand out with averted vision.

I can see a trail of faint stars, I presume you mean those.
