Hi Everyone,

This is NGC1499 taken with my Samyang 135mm + Atik414osc for rgb (24 x 300s) and Atik428ex for Ha (12 x 600s) from two nights some two weeks apart.

I've spent far longer processing the data than I did capturing in the first place and I'm still not sure about the result.

Pre-processed and stretched in PI; colour processed and combined in PS.

Any comments and/or advice would be most welcome.

Thank you for looking.

Is there any star colour in the rgb image?

Thanks Wim. Well there may well be and I just haven't worked hard enough to pull it out. Thank you for the observation - I will revisit the rgb data and see what I can do. Maybe I should use the ArcSinhStretch instead of / as well as the HistogramStretch to tease out the colour.

Well, I've given ArcSinh a go and found some colour! Why didn't I do that in the first place?

Have I gone too far? Have I not gone far enough?

A lot better, imo. Whether it's too little or too much is always a personal taste. I like it the way it is.
