CELESTRON 21035 TRAVEL SCOPE 70

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am using the Travel scope 70 as a finder on a larger scope. As this accepts 1.25" eyepieces,I thought I would plug a DSLR to it and take some piggy back images. Equipment is mounted on an EQ6 mount. There is no processing, exposure times 60 secs isa 800. Taken from an urban site with some LED Street lighting. The idea being to show what this little £60 scope is capable of. This may be helpful for those thinking of getting one....Dave

Remarkable! I had one of these for some years and just passed it onto a friend who wanted a terrestrial spotter with the odd bit of moon gazing. I always felt that despite its plasticky feel and the usual  poor quality accessories the optics were better than the price would suggest. Good to see photos to support that.

I think you have just about summed it up correctly Ian. Very poor accessories. I binned them along with the tripod which was a joke. I have the  travel 70 supported by ADM finder rings. At the time it was difficult to get a finder of that size under a £100.,but this idea works well...Dave
