NZCH
Hi All Here is the link to my long/lat http://www.gps-coordinates.org/my-location.php?lat=-27.540893&lng=152.982607 Its fairly hard to set the latitude on the HEQ5 when its - ? How would these be entered? second stupid question, when i try to set the mount south, the magnetic variance is +24, positive east. I assume this would now make the rough true heading 156 degrees? Also the time zone has been entered +12.00 . The scope was miles out last night, i know its something stupid i am doing. I know there is a lot to learn lol. Gfamily
Do you have a mobile phone or tablet? One that has GPS location capability? Download SynScanInit as an app - it will give you exactly the values to enter, with regard to location, date, time zone, saving time, etc... Geoff Barnes
Hi NZCH +1 for Gfamily. Your latitude should be entered as -27.54. If I were you I would round the longitude up to (E) 153.00 which is near enough not to make any difference. If the decimal points are above .60 it seems to reject the figure. I did this with my Go-To and it worked fine (when it worked, but that's another story). See how you go with that.
