21P with 15x70s

Another look with 15x70s shortly after moonset when it was at a 45* elevation. I was viewing from a Bortle 4/5 location at a community forest. It's gotten brighter since I looked on Aug 10. The core was much more noticable and with averted vision I could just make out a slight fan shape to its body.

I can now see it with averted vision in my 8 X 30mm binoculars so it must be about mag 8...

Sounds like it may be worth a drive down the road to darker skies with my 15x70s.

Once the moon slings its hook later on tonight and the clouds stay away I will have another gander at the old 21P myself with my 16x70's. I'm hoping a tail makes an appearance.

Good luck. The Kemble 1 asterism is right nearby. It's a nice binocular target if you've never seen it.
