Last night I got to spend about an hour and a half to watch the Persieds. The first 1/2 hour I saw 4. One of these was mind blowing! Big and bright, but not fireball bright. It had a wide tail that was bright in the center with the outside like rolling smoke. The tail covered about 25 degrees with it's length.

The last hour I saw 9 meteors. 6 were Persieds and 3 sporadic. One of the sporadic was low on the northern horizon. Had it been higher up, I have no doubt I could of confirmed a fire ball status from my location. It was very bright, but had no noticable tail.

I might not of seen many last night, but those two have been forever etched into my memory with others room years past. A great enjoyable session.
