Can you De-fish this image?

Recommended Posts

The first thing that comes to mind is the "Lens correction/Distortion" filter built into Photoshop... that would allow you to correct aberrations, chromatic and other as well as de-pincushion or fish eye correct.... it actually works quite well, but you will need to crop the end result a bit.

Only to a point with such a low resolution JPEG to go at. Download a free trial version of "DXO PhotoLab" Open your original RAW file in that, then 'Customize', scroll down the right side menu to Geometry/Distortion/Fisheye. The higher you set the slider the more correction. Don't over cook things and look closely at your horizontals and verticals for unacceptable stretching effects.

Below is a 50% correction but only having 400kb it is a very poor result, but gives an idea. Note that what looks like your camp ground in the original has been cropped out with the stretch, and the far left of the Milkyway is over streched.
