TS Optics 1KG Counterweight - Extra metal bit ?

Panda Alvin

Recommended Posts

Brought a Teleskop 1KG counterweight this week to do a makeshift balance system.

When it delivered I am surprised to find out the screw isn't actually long enough to reach the centre and there is an extra metal part that pushes it in. Is this normal for anyone who owned this item ?
My concern is that this extra metal bit doesn't automatically come out unless pushed by the shaft. Just worried it may get jammed someday, or if its been pushed in before the shaft went through.

This is pretty normal on most weights supplied now. Nothing to worry about,as long as you don’t lose the pin that goes in the weight. As it is longer that the hole it shouldn’t drop out unless you unscrew the whole securing screw.
