NGC 6188 is an emission nebula located about 4,000 light years away in the constellation Ara. The bright open cluster NGC 6193, is visible to the naked eye is responsible for a region of reflection nebulosity within NGC 6188.
The emission nebula is found near the edge of a large molecular cloud unseen at visible wavelengths.

First image doing a complete RGB and Narrowband image.

GSO RC 6
HEQ5 Pro Belt mod
ZWO ASI 1600mm
Lum 23 x multiple exposure = 90min
Red 16 x 5 min = 80min
Green 19 x 5 min = 95min
Blue 13 x 5 min = 65min
HA 10 x multiple exposure = 130min
OIII 4 x 15min = 60min
Total time = 8.6 hrs

How are you finding the ASI1600mmc vs the ASI071mc you normally use? I was very impressed with the results you got from the OSC so surprised you moved to mono in your low LP.

Hi Adam

im still getting the feel of the 1600mm, but so far I’m really happy with it. I found that the 071 is good for bright DSO objects and if you want a quick image. I moved to mono so I can really start to bring out as much detail as possible and start to image in NB.

At a later time I want to get into doing Hubble platte , but since a started to image HA I realised I’m missing out on a lot of detail.
