Hi all,

Finally got my HEQ5, and with some nice clear skies yesterday, I was keen to have a go at getting an image.
I managed to get the mount roughly polar aligned and got a mixture of exposures from 10 seconds to 120 seconds.

There were some star trails in some of the 2 minute exposures. so I might have something not quite set up correctly, and I've overdone the processing a bit, but I was having fun.

This is my first astro-photograph for about 15 years, and I'm glad to be back. Just need some more practice and clear skies now!

Nice job, I took a break as well, but it definitely wasn't 15 years!

If you want better polar alignment than I would recommend getting the app 'polar scope align' it works very well for getting precise polar alignment.

Thanks for the tip. I'll download that and have a go later.
