Quick Saturn

Quick processing of Saturn from tonight that seems to have come out OK. Now time for bed! Taken with C8 SCT & ZWO ASI 120mc camera. captured with FireCapture, processed through Registax & edited a little in PS.

Good image. Hey, Gus, have you tried bringing down the saturation? You might pull out some more detail that way, and experiment with the wavelets. Have fun!

Hi Reggie. Thanks. I have played with wavelets, but for some images rather than improving it it seems to add too much noise, so I balance it out as much as I can. I saturated the image a little to bring out the colour in Saturn, but I’ll have another go later on today with some of the files I took. I’ll spend more time trying to tease the best image out than I did last night.

Yeh, those wavelets can be tricky. Some images I can crank them before I see any detail, and others I get fractured-looking things with only a slight adjustment. Sometimes, I process the same image multiple times and get different results (???).  Other times, I may combine two finished images to get the desired result. It's fun and exciting experimenting with this stuff!
