The Sun in Ca-K - 14th May 2018

Quick early(ish) session before work today. White light visual @ 114x did not show any spots so went with Ca-K imaging instead. Not much prom activity so just full disk and close up of AR12709 @2500mm focal length with the Revelation 2.5x barlow. ASI camera is up to about 30FPS with the new SSD in the lappy which is better but still room for improvement. Consequently I am now looking at candidates for my next laptop. Currently have my eyes on a Dell Vostro  but that could well change!

I think this is the first image I have finalised in GIMP2.10, so that's new and these were all captured in FireCapture. After Sharpcap being my goto app for many years the ASI seems to behave better under FC but still early days yet.

Hopefully off out for a look at Jupiter shortly. Clear skies.
