Last Nights Moon - Just Using My Camera

Got a new camera yesterday and wanted too see how it would cope with the moon. Colour is not great, but it was only a quick play. Considering this was taken without the use of a scope think its not too bad, plus its my first attempt at any astro photography! Really need to get the bits to connect it to my 8" Newt!

Edit : Sorry the moon is not in the centre of the pic, am using it as my desktop, will try and get a more central one up later!

I bought a Fujifilm Finepix S5700 Bridge camera yesterday, so was just messing around with the shutter speed. Think it was on ISO 64 and a shutter speed of 1/500th (somewhere around that), cant remember what the aperture was. As for the lens, as its a bridge camera it is just part of the unit.

Jon, The shutter speed was 1/100, f 3.5, iso100

I know you can get the info from the picture i posted, but how did you get? I cant seem to figure out how to do it? Do you need some software to do it?

reply its in the EXIF data...

Depending on the OS your using you might be able to see it by looking at the file properties...

Right click on the image icon and select properties, click the summary tab and all the EXIF data is contained in the dialogue box

I used some software called Opanda iExif. If it's uploaded and posted with it in, then opanda can read it out of the image data.

Thanks! I had checked the properties before but didnt see the 'Advance' button on the Summary Tab. As you can tell very new at this!
