Ashdown Forest

Living in Brighton a few years, have sailing friends in the marina.  Now my brother has got me interested in tracking asteroids!

I was looking on https://www.lightpollutionmap.info  for a dark place to move to but not far away and finally had to eliminate for residence a large area between Nutley and Upper Hartfield.  This is occupied by the Old Lodge Nature Reserve, the army's Pippingford Training Centre, and the Ashdown Forest Centre.

Has anyone arranged observing in this area?

As mentioned there is/was a starparty and it is use by local observers, hope you make contact!

Back in the 80`s it used to be a great place to do observing,I can`t recall the actual area but the pub was The Swan renamed Cygnus..... Happy times. Des
