Just read that you can have focus issues using a DSLR without the Field Flattener/Reducer on the Esprit 80. Can anyone confirm this as was planning on getting without to begin with.

Cheers,

Tom.

My Esprit 100 came with a flattener in the case. It may be the same for the 80.

Andy.

Tom,

If  U R up to Imaging, sharp optics and a solid focuser is the main concern. Flashy jittering paintworks and barometer hanging on fouser will not help :).

First scope or second scope doesnt matter, If it has sharp optics and a good focuser u will enjoy with DSLR and CCD as well. Which means fun and U will not think of changing the equipment for a while.

I mean to say buy a good one, a real good one and be happy. Naturally without financial ruin:(

hope this helps.
