Trawl around the swan

Had a lovely trawl around with 10x50s. M27 was bright and quite large even at 10x then up high around Cygnus. No joy with the North American Nebula, but the clusters are crystal clear - the cooling tower M29 and M39 a jewel box. M33 was a large haze as Triangulum was rising and Andromeda was spread out flat but was not sure of M110. Finished with a view of asteroid Iris in Aries, which is a little brighter than 8 mag. now and stands out well. A nice hour under the autumn sky.

Glad you viewed Neptune Les, it fires the imagination.  Binoculars are ideal for large diffuse patches such as M33, and possibly a bit easier than through a scope Neil - as they have so much contrast, and that's what you need for diffuse objects.
