First try with modded 1000D

I picked up a modified 1000D the other week and on Thursday I got a chance to try it out in the garden.  Here is a single shot - 431 seconds - of the redder bit of Cygnus.

Great shot.... Any info on the lens / scope , ISO Light Pollution filters much appreciated.  I fancy a go at that.

Aha, I need to update my signature, I am now in Oxfordshire.  This was at ISO 800, with an Astronomik CLS clip-in filter, and a canon 50mm f1.8 lens at f2.8.

Yep, skies are pretty good, although we have the B4009 swishing past 24 hours a day a couple of feet from the garden.

Nice widefield. I think I can just make out the Veil nebula at the bottom.

Very pleased with it so far. I met the amp glow issue when using Live View but quickly worked out what was going on. I think I may have startled the local hedgehogs with my reaction to all that h alpha stuff appearing in the photos I took on Thursday night. Thank you!
