Nice photo...   That was Thursday, wish I had gone for it then and not Friday...  but here is a thing, does the aurora mess up photographing DSO's ???... that would be an irony...

One of our Finnish forum members was complaining how the aurora spoils his imaging sessions...

I had a choice last night - on the one hand driving out to look for a possible aurora with cloud and rain forecast and a waning gibbous moon.

Or a nice bottle of refreshing cider.

On balance, I went for the cider!

Today i educated a few people about the Aurora because they were all talking about it since it was all over the news. I told them how/why they happen and said this outburst is being caused by a pretty big CME (yes, i explained that to them also) which happened a couple of days ago.
