what size guidescope rings for 80mm refractor ?

Hi, i have a choice of 125mm or 150mm adm guidescope rings for a skywatcher startravel 80mm scope.

would welcome comments on which size ring is the best suited for the size of scope.

I would have thought that the 125mm would easily hold the ST80.

thing is i don't want to use larger rings than i need but also don't want to use smaller ones that limit my guide stars.

I used to have an ST80 and I am sure it was 125mm rings that I used with it. There was ample available movement.

PS With the ST80 being F5 I hardly ever had to move the scope to find a suitable guide star.

The 150mm ADM Guidescope rings will be a little too large for the ST80 but the 125mm rings will be fine with plenty of 'movement' should you need it.

I've always provided 110mm rings for the ST80, as it's only 90mm wide, no complaints so far.

Thanks guys, it looks like the 125mm rings will be the way to go.

just needed to be sure before i buy them tomorrow.

mind you not sure when i will have the chance to use them with all this cloud about!!

Andy, the 125mm ADM Guidescope rings will allow you to mount most telescopes with apertures from 66mm through to 90mm.
