Effect of powermate (2.5x) on focal plane

Does anyone know the effect a TeleVue 2.5x powermate has on the focal plane position? How much it moves and in which direction? My solar telescope only has limited focus range and I cannot get anyway near a focused image.

Whenever I use my 2.5x Powermate to take photos of the moon with a DSLR, I have to add a 50mm + 35mm extension tube to my draw tube.

Anything less, and it will not come to focus. This is true no matter which refractor I use.

I am only visual. With my TV60 and TV everbrite diagonal, the Powermate 2.5x requires 2-3mm inward travel to focus. Never had an issue with that.
