wimvb
@gorann and I are keeping ourselves busy ploughing through the Liverpool Telescope archives. Every now and then we find some hidden gems in this treasure chest. Here's one that was somewhat of a challenge. NGC 5383 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. The central part of the galaxy is some 3 arcminutes in diameter. But the interesting features are outside of this. The spiral arms extend well beyond double this diameter. This is rarely revealed in images. Enjoy.
gorann
Great processing Wim! All other images of this galaxy that I can find (not many) miss the outer arms that you managed to bring out. Have you got a name for the other galaxy in there?
wimvb
Thanks. The other galaxy isn't recognised by astrometr.net. May do a little research on that.
