Good afternoon folks,

I’d like to pick your brains for a solution. I’ve just order some Geoptik Cases for my reflector, mount, tripod and counterweights.

I have a Skywatcher Explorer 200PDS which has a 1000mm tube that I want to place in a Geoptik Padded Case that is 1200mm long.

Any suggestions what I can use to fit the vacant 8-inch cube in the bag? I’d like a neat solution if possible rather than just shoving a large towel into the void.

All ideas welcome. Clear skies!

I've been thinking about putting a couple of the Billingham SuperFlex 10-21 Inserts (one each end of the case). That way I'd have some extra storage within the bag - but I'm not sure what I'd put in them and they would need to have something in them to work. It seems a shame to waste valuable space in a case that isn't heavy.

I have similar equipment but I think the tube alone is heavy enough inside the transport bag. Under the tube, I put double bubble sheet (big bubbles) over the bubbles there is a "Piqué" (french) the kind of blanket they use an hospital bed to collect urine.. I use it to collect dew formation dripping off the tube while drying, it's effective.

There is nothing at the ends of the bags.. the tube is moving a bit from front to back but not very much if I take care while carrying the bag.

@Rollageyder it's not the answer you wanted.. but it's working for me so far.

-I like your red moon avatar also, nice image.
