First (Novice) tryout of NexImage 5 (Jupiter & Saturn)

Recommended Posts

Hi, all this is my first imaging posting. Recently got myself a Celestron NexImage 5 for my birthday last week and after an initial play with it the night before these are my results.

For Jupiter I used my SW 200p Dobs on my EQ platform without and then with 2x Barlow. Processing wise I only used iCap2.3 and RegiStax6.1

For Saturn I had to use my SW ST80 on an AZ3 mount and hand guided (Saturns low and my garden makes it difficult to get onto).

Apologies if the colour doesn't seem quite right I'm cursed with colour blindness and struggle.

thanks for looking, Dave

Try using RGB align in Registax - the first two jupiter images look like they could benefit from it.

The RGB align in Autostakkert doesn't seem to work if you use drizzle or resample, and if you have colour blindness you may struggle to see the tell-tale coloured edges, but RGB align will reward you with a sharper more  contrasty image.

Thanks for the tip I'll take another look and play around with settings - thankfully I can also use my wife for vetting the colours when I can get her initerested enough in what I'm working on!
