April 30 (just), 2017: Jupiter with C8 and ASI224MC again

Recommended Posts

Here are four images of Jupiter captured just now. Seeing was pretty decent, but at the low altitude of Jupiter there was still quite a bit of wobble. I didn;t use the ADC this time, because FireCapture 2.5 kept seizing up, refusing to capture more than about 120 frames. FireCapture 2.4 did behave, so I used it, but as that lacks the ADC tool, I felt I was better off without the ADC this time round. I am pretty pleased with the result, all the more because the odd "ringing"artefact seen in previous images is absent, or at least much smaller, so I don't notice it.

I notice the images seem to be scaled up in my browser, compared to the Windows Image Viewer or GIMP. Does make them look a bit blurry.

Nice images Michael:

I always have the problem that images which look sharp in PShop on my laptop look less detailed and "flatter" when uploaded as a file.
