Hi all, I did some imaging with my old Neximage 5 the other night, It all worked fine but there are some stubborn marks on the sensor. So, I would like to replace it but dont want to spend a fortune but would like something thats a little better. I have had a look at the Neximage 10 but it seems to have mixed reviews. Can you suggest an alternative?

thanks in advance for spending my cash!

I'm looking at at about £250 ish. My next 5 has worked fine for me but has sat in a dark corner for ages while i did DSO imagery. It's only because i was forced to do the moon the other night and remembered how much fun it is to use.! Lol

this is just above budget + sell the neximage usb3 though so your computer needs to be usb to make full use and a SSD drive really would be of benefit to cope with the high framerates  http://www.modernastronomy.com/shop/cameras/guide-cameras/zwo-guide-cameras/zwo-asi224mc-usb3-0-colour-cmos-camera-with-sony-exmor-and-nir-technology-and-autoguider-port/

If you specifically want "more" then the Neximage then it really means the ZWO ASI-178:

Neximage: 5MP, 5.7x4.3mm, 2.2 micron sq pixels.

ASI-178: 6.4MP, 7.4x5mm, 2.4 micron sq pixels

The 1600 is well above the budget, the 178 is around £360, so still above budget. It is all getting costly these days.

What is wrong with your Neximage 5 ??

My next 5 has got something on the sensor. I have tried to remove and clean it but no luck. It's not big or bad just annoying.
