William if you take your telescope outside and look at the Moon through the eyepiece you will quickly appreciate the need for the telescope to be able to move.  The Moon, or any other target, will move across the eyepiece; if the telescope does not move with the target, the target will soon leave your view.  The so called slo mo controls when turned allow you to move the telescope in a controlled manner such that the target remains centred in the eyepiece for you to view. Kind of neat when you think about it.:happy7:

Stellarium is a really useful app William, if you haven't already downloaded it I would recommend it to you.  You are better off with the download for a pc or mac - the mobile phone version is fine but offers limited functionality.  PC or mac version is free.
