Advice on SW200p eypieces

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a SW200p,  F5 telescope with the standard 25mm and 10mm eyepieces.

I'm now looking to upgrade the eyepieces and I'm considering the ES82 range with 2 X Focal extender'

I'm not sure what seize eyepieces to get but was looking at - 30mm, 18mm, 11mm, 8,8mm plus the focal extender.

Can I have your advice on this and any other recommendations for eyepieces.

Thanks

Doug

Hi Doug64, welcome to the SGL.

One option, try a  BST Starguider of say 5mm or the 8mm for your higher power, their great value, and work very well, even on an f/5 scope.
I have other exotic/expensive optics, but to my eyes, only the field of view is wider, the image detail appears the same, but your not using my eyes?

The 24mm ES 82 will be excellent in your scope for widefield viewing and with an OIII/UHC filter for nebs. For planetary/lunar a Baader 10mm Classic ortho and their Q- Barlow would give excellent views of the moon and planets. Tightish eyerelief however.
