My first run at processing M31 from last night. Clouds rolled in earlier than I expected, although at one point it was about 90% cloud and M31 was still clear. Only 22 minutes of data, so I plan to get another half hour to an hour , I think.

I'm assuming the asymmetry of the flare around the brightest stars is caused by the over-long focus tube?

<Edit - I have already used gradex to get rid of the gradients at bottom & left edges since this version)

How did you take this??like how long did you keep the lens open for and how many pictures??

With my skywatcher 130P-DS and Canon 450D. 22 1-minute subs at ISO1600, stacked in DSS and processed in photoshop and Astra.

Nice one. If you add that hour you mentioned, you should be able to get more details in the outer parts and dust lanes. Looking forward to it.
