LOL. Come on over. Sunny skies and pretty celebrities.

Joking aside do you think getting a Barlow is better than getting a 5mm. As you know I have a 9mm. A 2x Barlow will give 4.5mm effect. And what are some good but reasonably priced ones?

Rockystar, I did your experiment. Pointed the laser on to a wall 15 feet away. Got one dot. No circles.

And the dot stayed put on the same spot as you rotated the laser collimator through 90, 180, 270 and 360 degrees ?

If it did then the laser collimator is in good shape :icon_biggrin:

Good AND reasonably priced? That's a tough one lol. If you can find a version of this TS Optics apochromatic 2x Barlow it is good quality. It is actually manufactured by Barsta and I have the Omegon branded version. It is sold under different names (and different prices) but it's the same Barlow. It also has a filter thread.

The Celestron Barlow in the link below is also sold as a Sky-Watcher De-Luxe Barlow. It is Synta made and quite good for an achromatic Barlow.

Regarding image quality, I have never viewed through an Ethos, but apart from the name, and the difference in the apparent field of view, and pricing, they are very much the same, with the Delos retaining the performance of an Ethos. I would expect under good conditions that the images from either EP should be of the same quality.

On that note, I get very good images from my cheapest eyepieces, my Delos EPs are still un-decided?

It's still light outside at 2340 hours here, so further testing will take place later in the Year when it's darker!  I'm informed that the better eyepieces  can be of benefit in seeing subtle changes in detail and clarity, but try using my eyes? As individuals, we're all different, and our eyes differ  too.

Owning a faster scope may show a difference with regards to the sharpness at the extremes of the field of view, over my cheaper EPs, again, untested to-date to see if this suits/matters  for my eyes/needs?

I have been observing Jupiter, Mars and Saturn with my 9mm Meade 5000 series 60 Hd EP. Image quality is good at the center but flaring is visible toward the edge. I'm considering getting 8.8mm Ex Scientific 82 to compare against Meade. Televue is outside the scope of my budget. Lol
