Celestron AVX mount lock down?

Recommended Posts

I've got the AVX pier mounted but the polar alignment seems to be easily disturbed if I modify the scope, i.e. by adding or removing the focal reducer.

Is there any way to lock it down so it won't move?  It seems particularly vulnerable in azimuth.

Hi Robin

I'm probably no help but from Googling the pier, doesn't it have a side aperture for securing after PA?

Sorry guys, shouldn't have posted just before going away.

Also got it wrong, the azimuth bolts are OK they lock against each other.  The problem seemd to be with the altitude screws.  But I think I've got that sorted.

Thanks
