SW Alt/az mount with Skymax 127 and ST 80

Hey all.

I am considering trying to piggyback my SW ST80 on top of my Skymax 127.

 

The thing I am unsure of is if the SW alt/Az mount can handle that weight with a camera attached to one of the scopes and maybe a webcam to the other ?

I would doubt that the AZ-GOTO mount could handle the combined weight.

If you are thinking of doing some DSO imaging then that is the wrong sort of mount to use anyway. Guiding is normally only done on an EQ mount. If you want to do planetary imaging then you don't need to guide.

It was not really for guiding but more so I do not have to switch.
