First DSO

Last night I finally was able to find M42. I am still fairly new to the hobby but I have been getting good with most of the planets. So, after watching Jupiter, ( beautiful every time) I decided to try and find M42. After about 10 mins I found it. I was amazed how awesome it was. I can't wait to find more!

Nice one. As a bonus, you must have seen M43 as well (little round nebula nestling in the dark "bay"of M42). Two for the price of one! M42/M43 remains special, even after 35 years of observing. Gorgeous object

Congrats With Your first two dso`s. Like they say above, you probably saw M43 too.

Good job! I clearly remember the first time I found M43. I was rendered speechless at the eyepiece! And knowing there are countless other remarkable entities out there keeps my feeling of awe alive and kicking.

No one can ever hope to see them all!
