Maximum Load on a NEQ6

Recommended Posts

Hi All - I've got an NEQ6 on a Pier in my garden together with a Celestron C11 OTA, and ST80 Guide Scope, Telrad and the standard Celestron Finder

I'm thinking of changing the ST80 for an Evostar 100ED so question is would this bring the NEQ6 close to it's maximum payload or will I be OK?

Any help/suggestions are gratefully received.

Thanks for the info Peter

Just been looking at the weight of the Evostar 100ED and  it's listed as 7kg - put that together with the C11 weight of around 12kg and it looks like I'm right on the edge as the primary use I want it for is Astrophotography.

Looks like I'd be better off with the 80ED (if I can find a decent second hand one)

Thanks again

Martyn
