Crater Plato

Recommended Posts

been a while since have had an observing session. but good time tonight with clear skies and concentrated on moon and crater Plato (this month's Sky at Night magazine moonwatch) as it was in the best time to observe and clear skies for once:) Good view of some shadow cast by the crater wall, and changing shadows of the Montes Teneriffe as well as Mons Pico and Piton (using mainly SW Myriad 9mm 100 deg EP with a x2 Barlow). Great to be out again. I never tire of exploring the moon.

Have you looked at the Virtual Moon Atlas yet? Many agree it's one of the absolute best available - free. If I were lost on the Moon, it's the roadmap I'd be wanting. There are many additional files of images available with it:

I love the Moon! So many wonderful places to explore!

Enjoy -
