TS Optics TSFRE960WS 60mm RACI Finderscope.

Recommended Posts

I just purchased this RACI finder. Hopefully, it'll arrive early next week.

It'll be nice to have a finder that doesn't give me a crick in the neck and I'll be able to use my own EP's, I'll probably use my spare 1.25" 25mm Plössl.  Then there's the fact I can use it as a guide scope when I eventually get a guide camera.

The specs are:

  • Aperture: 60mm
  • Focal length: 234mm
  • Lens: Multi-coated achromatic system, two elements
  • Focuser: 1.25", helical
  • Focus travel: 15mm
  • Back focus in inner position: tba mm from 1.25" receptacle
  • Weight w/o tube rings: 540 Grams
  • Total weight: 830 Grams

The finder/guide scope was delivered today. I Fitted it to my scope, which was very easy and aligned it with a TV mast that's a few miles away using high powered EP's and a 2xbarlow. It has lovely crisp views, much better than my old 50mm finder and it's so much more comfortable to use. Looks like I'll have to purchase a couple of illuminated reticle EP's now. One for the finder and one for the scope for doing star alignments.
