Planetary Imaging OTA on an EQ5 mount advice/recommendations please?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I have been imaging DSO's with my 130pds for a couple of years now and i'm looking to have a go at imaging the planets. Can anyone give me some advice on a good telescope to get for the planets that will sit comfortably on my current EQ5 mount? Budget of £500 - £600 max.

thanks,

George

For imaging aperture is important and it doesn't have to be a Mak. SCT C8 is shortest and most lightweight for 8" and that or 9,25" could be the max that would work optimally with EQ5. And bigger aperture would be way better than small 127 or 140 Maks ;)
