+1 for Craterlet http://www.stark-labs.com/craterlet.html . Not too complicated to use and should have less system overheads. What computer do you use and what webcam ?

You've probably just got the framerate set too high in SharpCap , it's a far better software than Craterlet so I'd stick with it personally.

You should ask a question of Robin (SharCap's developer ) in the SharpCap thread , he's a really nice guy who will undoubtedly point you in the right direction.

thanks guys ill give `craterlet` a try,... my pc has a 3.1ghz d/c cpu & 4gb ram.... ive tried turning frame rate down but still just goes all unresponsive, just like my cam gets a max resolution of 640x480 on every other cam program ive tried, yet on sharpcap, only gets a 320x240?!? its mainly just for getting used to using a cam on the scope instead of using my phone lol its just a crappy 0.3mp cam, only cost £10, so not really after like proper professiomal editing stuff, just something that i can actually use & isnt overly complicated  :)
