I love them too. The original smooth sided Tele Vue plossls were particularly beautiful - something almost Art Deco about them.

The 1st 1.25" eyepieces I ever bought were 4 of the smooth sided Tele Vue plossls , back in the 1980's. My 1st Naglers were the T1 4.8mm and 7mm smooth sides too. These all introduced me to the bad-for-the-wallet habit of Tele Vue and it's been empty ever since

These are the Circle NJ 's made around the mid 80's.  The flash makes them look dirty, they really are clean for the age.  Around 1988 the Circle R's came out , then around 1990 they had the rubber grips.
