charging Li-Po batteries

I was recently recommended to charge my lipo battery in a charging bag

for the sake of a few quid, seemed like a good idea.

The fire-proof ones?  it wont do any harm... They are normally recommended for the RC style packs which could possibly suffer some "mechanical abuse" and as a result go "pop"...

Never had a problem charging LiPo for RC, 10th offroadcar batteries are 'hardcased' not soft packs like the flight stuff,  all car clubs demand charging in dedicated charging bag and I have seen old ammunition box's used. Good idea to be safe, when they go they go.  Always use a dedicated LiPo charger, I have seen LiPo's charged as NiMh or NiCad by mistake and when they start to swell you keep well away from them.

I've always considered the bags but never got around to buying one. Probably because I've never had an issue with 1000's of flight pack charges under my belt. Beware the cheapo bags though...

Had one LiPo swell a few years back but very slowly over a long time. That one ended up in a bucket of salt water.
