Hi, had a crack at M45 last night ... Fullish Moon, a bit misty and a hasty polar align. Managed about 15 x 45 seconds and about 5 x 60 seconds .

Should this be enough to show any nebulosity as the results are pretty limp [emoji3]

All taken at 400 ISO , Nikon D7100 and William optics Zenithstar 70 on AVX mount

Link to stacked DSS TIFF of anyone's bored ...

This simply isn't a target for moonlit conditions. It would be hard to think of a target worse affected by moonlight since the nebulosity is produced through reflection, so is largely blue - and blue is the colour of the night sky during the moon time for the same reasons that it's blue by day. We may not be able to see it as such but that's the case.

I was able to open the original file and had a look at your image. Ihave to agree with Mike:

There definitely is nebulosity. If you improve the PA, you should be able to squeeze more exposure time out of it and reduce the noise.

But for better images you need to take flats. There is quite some vignetting and dust in your system.
