September 1, 2015: Morning H-alpha session from Malta

Sunny again here. Before breakfast I had a quick look, and there are some nice filaments visible. One in the north-east is particularly striking: long and dark and apparently rooted in a bright plage area. A prom is also visible in the east. Another bright plage area is near the centre of the disk. Otherwise fairly quiet.

Nicely reported it is as near as I will get to seeing any solar action today.

No, those were from Groningen. I couldn't take the entire imaging set-up to Malta, just the SolarMax-II 60mm with carbon tripod and mini-giro head

Cheers Michael, I was just being sentimental  A magnificent 50th birthday solar image, it would have topped it with a cherry if it had been taken from Malta.  Still fantastic all the same
