New Lamps for Old!

The Council have just replaced a couple of the main offending lamps that spoil my viewing to East with a much better type. The light pollution has ben greatly reduced as a result. Hope they replace the others fairly soon in which case they will get my vote at the next local elections.

These are the old and new lights but the same Sea Gull.

No, the first one is lesser black-backed gull and the second a herring gull

Our council have been putting those friendly lights up for a wee while now CW.I have noticed that the light from them seems whiter,certainly not an orange glow coming from them.

It's good news to see a difference being made already - roll on the expiration of the existing offending bulbs!!!!

We seem to have quite a large number of the newer ones around here. And we're are very lucky that a considerable number get turned off at midnight

I still think that they could reduce the number of lights,remove every second one and there would still be adaquit light surely?

Thats a fall back to the good old days John,cant be many places that do that.
